In 2001, Ray was invited to Los Angeles by a renowned oil and entertainment mogul to evaluate his art collection with a view to selective selling. The client was elderly and wanted to control the sales process rather than having his estate lawyers simply send the works to auction. After we provided an exhaustive report with current values, this Renoir painting, Place de la Trinite, was chosen as the first work to sell. We brokered a deal within a month to a UK collector.
